I do believe that is exactly how the monroe wiggle came about, I think one of her heels was filed down! I studied theatre costume too and have worked for years doing various wardrobe bits and bobs! I have a baby now so touring to remote dark and damp theatres just isn't my scene! Good luck with it all, I had such a laugh working in wardrobe!
